This comb not only doesn't melt like other carbon combs, it has shorter teeth than average, which is PERFECT for precision styling, getting closer to the root and for making sure you don't grab too much hair at a time to straighten for the best styling/straightening results. If you're very into precise results (where you're willing to take a little more time to do it right) this is the comb for you. If you however are too impatient to get good results and want to do your hair all wrong, you'll be happier with a giant comb. Not that giant combs are always bad (they have their use to for the quick basics of your styling), but for the last steps of your styling routine, where you already have the rough idea (as an example lets say you started with a dangling brush and a blow dryer, then went to maybe a round comb down to maybe a 1" glampalm crescent/volumizer and now you're down to the details and maybe have the new glampalm stiletto straightener out to get those exacting results and precision counts... the later half of your styling is when you'll want to pull this baby out. I"m getting the glampalm detangling brush next, just based on how much I like all the thought that went into this comb and it seems to have equally glowing reviews. If it's anything close to as good as this comb I'll be very happy indeed.
